PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic heating apparatus capable of detecting possibility that a storage tank becomes empty and that cooling water is leaked.

SOLUTION: The thermotherapeutic apparatus for carrying out thermotherapy by inserting an applicator 1 into a living body and irradiating biological tissue with energy from the applicator 1 comprises: a cooling water bag 8 for storing the cooling water to be circulated to the applicator for cooling the surface of the living body and the applicator 1 irradiated with energy; a storage tank 5 for storing the cooling water for filling the cooling water bag 8; an upper limit sensor 75 for detecting whether the quantity of the cooling water stored in the bag 8 is not smaller than a prescribed quantity; a control part 62 for filling the bag 8 with the cooling water from the tank 5; a total filling timer 64 for measuring a total filling time for filling the bag 8 with the cooling water from the tank 5; and a display device 4 for displaying the abnormality when the total filling time amounts to the prescribed time.
