<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master cylinder preventing a fixing member from being detached from a cylinder body and a reservoir. <P>SOLUTION: A mounting pin 4 is substantially bar-shaped, and a screw part 22 to be screwed in a screw hole 12 of a screen part 11 is formed substantially in a center part in the axial direction. The screw part 22 is screwed in the screw hole 12, the movement of the mounting pin 4 in the axial direction is limited. An elliptical part 28 which is formed in an elliptical shape and located at a fitting hole 19 when coupling a cylinder body 2 with a reservoir 3 is provided on the other end side of the mounting pin 4. The outer circumference of the elliptical part 28 in the coupled condition is abutted on a flat part 21 on a grommet seal 15 on the large diameter arc 26 side by the elastic force.
