摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alignment division vertical alignment type LCD and its driving method with which moving image of high quality can be displayed, and to provide electronic equipment equipped with such an LCD. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device has a plurality of pixels each, having a 1st electrode 11, a 2nd electrode 12 facing the 1st electrode, and a vertical alignment type liquid crystal layer 13 provided between the 1st electrode 11 and 2nd electrode 12. This liquid crystal display further has a beltlike 1st alignment restricting means 21, which is provided to the side of the 1st electrode 11 of the liquid crystal layer 13 and has a 1st width W1; a belt-like 2nd alignment restricting means 22 which is provided to the side of the 2nd electrode 12 of the liquid crystal layer 13 and has a 2nd width W2; and a belt-like liquid crystal area 13A, which is prescribed between the 1st alignment restricting means 21 and 2nd alignment restricting means 22 and has a 3rd width W3, which is 7 to 12μm.
