PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor device capable of controlling the sensing operation at high speed with high accuracy. SOLUTION: This sensor device has a sensor head, a sensor controller and a communication cable for connecting them, and the sensor head includes a transmitting means for transmitting the data transmitted from a going-way line of the communication cable, a transmitting means for transmitting the data to a returning-way line of the communication cable, a sensing means capable of controlling sensing mode, and a control means for controlling the sensing mode of the sensing means and providing the sensing data created from the sensing means to the transmitting means. The sensor controller includes a transmitting means for transmitting the data to the going-way line of the communication cable, a receiving means for receiving the data transmitted from the returning-way line of the communication cable, and a control means for transmitting the control data for controlling the sensing mode to the transmitting means and processing the sensing data transmitted by the transmitting means.
