PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member which has a high photocatalytic activity and is made highly transparent. SOLUTION: The subject photocatalytic member provided is constituted of a substrate and a coating film containing a hollow fiber comprising a compound containing titanium element and in which the long axis of the hollow fiber is oriented in a parallel direction to the substrate. The compound containing the titanium element is preferably a scroll layer shape trititanic acid. A very high transparency is obtained as transmittance of 90% or more at a wavelength of 500 nm of the coating film and further refractivity is very low. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
