<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily allow estimated price comparison and cost calculation even when currency at an ordering destination for each component is different from each other. <P>SOLUTION: A PDM (Product Data Management) system formed by integrating a plurality of computers 1, 2, 3 through a network involves: constructing a database 4 in a server; saving an M-BOM (Engineering Bill Of Material) and also a currency conversion table on the database 4 for managing them; and converting the ordering destination-based estimated price for each component required in deciding the process of each of the components into common currency based on the currency conversion table in the M-BOM to facilitate the estimated price comparison for each ordering destination. Furthermore, the currency conversion table is not directly linked to a time-varying exchange rate, but the currency conversion table is renewed to meet the current exchange rate in accordance with manually applied trigger or automatically applied trigger for every predetermined period of time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
