PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition capable of achieving sludge inhibitory properties, oxidation stability, rust preventive properties, and lubricity at high levels in a well-balanced manner, capable of prolonging an oil exchange interval to about 6,000-12,000 hr, when used as a compressor oil, and capable of preventing clogging of a mist separation filter, even when used in a rotary gas compressor equipped with a mist separation mechanism regulated to have an amount of stray mist of less than 0.02 g/Nm<SP>3</SP>. SOLUTION: This lubricating oil composition contains a lubricating base oil and at least one kind selected from a metallic cleaning agent, an ashless dispersing agent, and dispersion-type viscosity index improving agent, and further contains a rust preventive and a phosphorus-based compound.
