PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus for guiding a route, by estimating a destination when an ignition switch of an engine is on. SOLUTION: When the ignition switch of an engine is turned on, information, such as a current vehicle position and a day of the week, is detected by a current location detector 14, or the like. Then, the destination is estimated from information, such as the current vehicle position and a day of the week, on the basis of information, such as the past destination, vehicle position, and a day of the week, accumulated in a destination information database device 21. The estimated destination is displayed in the navigation apparatus, and the navigation apparatus starts guiding the route when an operator selects the destination. And congestion information is automatically displayed, on the basis of information on congestion information display, and information on the display and route search conditions accumulated in the destination information database device 21, thus setting conditions for searching a route.
