PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify an improper portion, and to quickly and positively correct an error when a malfunction is detected by carrying out a coherency analysis. SOLUTION: A control part 6 of a disc controller 2 generates redundant data corresponding to inspected data on the basis of a predetermined arithmetic expression. Consistency between the inspected data and the redundant data is inspected on the basis of the arithmetic expression. When inconsistency between the inspected data and the redundant data is detected, the magnetic disc device HDD1 (HDD2, HDD3, etc.) storing error data is specified on the basis of the arithmetic expression, corrected data corresponding to the error data is generated on the basis of the arithmetic expression, and the corrected data is stored in place of the error data in an improper storage region of the magnetic disc device HDD1 (HDD2, HDD3) storing the error data.
