PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable pulley device of simple structure capable of preventing leakage of lubricant outside and intrusion of dust from outside in a movable part of a fixed pulley half body and a movable pulley half body, and reduced in the number of parts to be machined. SOLUTION: This variable pulley device is structured of the fixed pulley half body A<SB>1</SB>provided with a fixed pulley face 3 in an axial end of a fixed pulley shaft 1 provided with a guide pin 2 installed therein, the movable pulley half body A<SB>2</SB>having a guide long hole and provided with a movable pulley face 7 in an axial end of a movable pulley shaft 5, an outer cylinder 9 having a flange-like part 9b and an annular groove part 9c and for covering the peripheral surface of the movable pulley shaft 5, an O-ring 12, and a coil spring 14 arranged along the axial direction of the outer cylinder 9. The O-ring 12 is housed in the annular groove part 9c, and the flange-like part 9b is made to abut on the movable pulley face 7 near a back surface side of a movable boss part 7a.
