PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing the amount of p-tolualdehyde being a thermal decomposition product by controlling thermal decomposition of 1,3:2,4-bis-O-(p-methylbenzylidene)-D-sorbitol (p-MDBS) during melting and kneading with a polyolefin resin and to obtain a molding that actualizes a low smell and has sufficient transparency from the obtained polyolefin resin composition. SOLUTION: The resin composition is obtained by (a) adding (A1) 0.05-3 parts wt. of the p-MDBS to 100 parts wt. of a polyolefin resin and (b) before heating the p-MDBS, adding (A2) 0.03-3 parts wt. of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of 1,3:2,4-O-dibenzylidene-D-sorbitol and 1,3:2,4-bis-O-(p-ethylbenzylidene)-D-sorbitol to 100 parts wt. of the polyolefin resin.
