PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve mechanism provided with a simple and low cost intermediate variable phase difference means using a hydraulic structure easy to machine without using a gear difficult to machine. SOLUTION: The variable valve mechanism is provided with a cam shaft 6, a rotary cam 6a, the intermediate drive mechanism 20 driving valves 2a, 2b at output part 24, 26 when an input part 22 is driven by the rotary cam 6a, and the intermediate variable phase difference means. The intermediate variable phase difference means is provided with a shaft 28b connecting an input part 22 and output parts 24, 26 relatively rotatably and a bearing hole 22b, a hydraulic pressure chamber rotating relatively to the shaft 28b together with the bearing hole 22b, a vane 28c stored in the hydraulic pressure chamber relatively rotatably and dividing the hydraulic pressure chambers 22h, 22i and rotating relatively to the bearing hole 22b together with the shaft 28b, and a hydraulic circuit supplying hydraulic fluid to the divided hydraulic pressure chamber.
