The system has a radio frequency identification tag for transferring data about characteristic of goods e.g. cigar, to a reader for detection of adulterated goods. The tag interacts with a seal on package of goods, such that manipulation of the tag causes destruction of the seal. The tag is placed in the package such that opening of the package at an intended place causes an automatic destruction of the tag. An independent claim is also included for a method for identifying adulterated goods.
