<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bicycle rental system capable of lending a bicycle without any human intervention and of improving a bicycle return ratio. <P>SOLUTION: This system includes a management means 1, which registers and manages specific information specifying a user and management information associated with the specific information and issues a use card storing the management information to a user, and a lending/returning processing means 2. The lending/returning processing means 2 releases a locked bicycle 5 for rent while recording loan information in the use card and returning it to a user when the user carries out predetermined borrowing operation including payment of a usage fee by means of the use card.
