PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cleaning device capable of stably cleaning water for a long period of time only by being immersed in water of river, pool, pond or else. SOLUTION: Both ends of a netlike cylindrical body 2 formed by winding a plastic net are closed by stainless cover plates 3, 3, further, a sponge 4 is cylindrically wound inside the netlike cylindrical body 2, ceramic sintered bodies 5, zeolite 6, natural stones 7 and charcoal 8 are packed inside the wound sponge and the packed part is impregnated with aerobic microorganisms and anaerobic microorganisms. The water cleaning device thus fabricated is immersed in water of river, pool, pond or else and organic material included in water flowing into the inner part is decomposed by the aerobic microorganisms and anaerobic microorganisms.
