PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk unit capable of being easily downsized. SOLUTION: A base part 210 at a turning end side of which a turntable for pivotally supporting an optical disk 10 is arranged turnably in a case body 110 is provided with a pair of guide shafts 230 for supporting an information processing section 240 provided with a pickup 240. A moving purpose electric drive motor 310 to an output shaft of which a lead screw 320 having a spiral engagement groove 321 with a moving restriction claw part 241B of the information processing section 240 engaged therewith is coaxially connected is integrally fitted to a bottom face of the case body 110 by using a fitting part 330. Since the configuration for moving the information processing section 240 when the turntable 222 is turned to a retreating position from a moving path of the optical disk 10 in the case of loading/unloading the optical disk 10 is not pressed into contact with the case body 110, the disk unit can excellently be downsized.
