PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for properly processing contents having a use limit in time. SOLUTION: This recording/reproducing device 10 records a content key to decode a program in a removable HDD unit 300 with a PKI secure module 200, when a program having no time limitation for reproduction is recorded, and obtains the contents key from the removable HDD unit 300 to decodes the encoded contents when a reproducing request comes. When a program having time limitation for reproduction is recorded, the device stores the content key in a temporary stored information holding part 224 without recording it in the removable HDD unit 300, and decodes encoded program data by this content key during reproduction.
