PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a subject of recognition to input an ID sign or password sign easily without touching a system direct. SOLUTION: A unique ID sign and password sign represented by a registrant's actions are registered in advance along with a face image. In authentication processing, a subject of recognition shows the ID sign or password sign registered in the registering means toward a camera, the sign shown by the subject of recognition is detected from an image picked up by the camera, and the detected sign is matched against each registrant's ID sign or password sign registered in advance to identify the registrant and authenticate that the subject of recognition is the registrant.
