PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire large eccentricity in a space-saving manner. SOLUTION: In this variable valve gear, a driving link 7 is rotatably and externally fitted to an eccentric part 6 of a camshaft 3, and a valve lifting swing cam is swingingly supported to the camshaft 3 to swing the swing cam by the displacement of the driving link 7 following the rotation of the eccentric part 6. The eccentric part 6 of the camshaft 3 is formed in crank shape comprising a pin part 6a having an axis eccentric to and extending parallel with the axis X of the camshaft 3, and a pair of support parts 6b, 6c mounted to both ends of the pin part 6a and supporting the pin part 6a to rotate eccentrically around the axis X of the camshaft 3. The driving link 7 is externally fitted to the pin part 6a and formed in divided structure so that the external fitting part (one end part) of the driving link 7 can be externally fitted to the pin part 6a.
