PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle safety device capable of avoiding overrun of a vehicle caused by operator's stepping in an accelerator pedal and a brake pedal simultaneously by mistake without bothering travel by operator's stepping in the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal simultaneously and intentionally. SOLUTION: In this vehicle safety device, an operating part 3 outputs engine control signal forcedly returning an engine to an idling condition irrespective of engine control signal based on step in amount of the accelerator pedal detected by an accelerator detection part 1 when brake pedal step in amount or brake operation pressure detected by a brake detection part 2 is a predetermined value corresponding to intentional simultaneous step in of the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal or more.
