DIGOXIGENIN-BINDING MUTEINS OF THE BILIN-BINDING PROTEIN OF PIERIS BRASSICAE

The present invention relates to novel muteins of the bilin-binding protein of Pieris brassicae, which bind digoxin and digitoxin with substantially the same affinity than and which bind digoxigenin with a KD of 25 nM or less. The invention also refers to the corresponding nucleic acid molecules encoding such muteins as well as to a method for producing such muteins by means of genetic engineering. Finally, the invention is directed to a pharmaceutical composition and a kit comprising such muteins as well as to the use of the muteins in various applications.
