A medicament is provided for treatment and/or prevention of joint diseases a nd inflammatory conditions such as osteoarthritis. A method for producing such medicament is provided, comprising mixing flax seeds in water at a temperatu re in the range of about 25-100~C and agitating the mixture, filtering of the flax seed solid refuse to obtain an aqueous eluent, which eluent is a medicament for treatment and/or prevention of joint diseases and inflammator y conditions such as osteoarthritis
