<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein the malfunction in which positioning of a process unit is released at each time when a cover is opened occurs, when the cover of an apparatus body is made a part of a positioning mechanism of the process unit in an image forming apparatus which provides the detachable process unit on the apparatus body. <P>SOLUTION: In a printer 1 of configuration, in which a detachable drum unit 14 is fixed on the apparatus body 20 by a locking mechanism 30, the lock mechanism 30 is composed of a lock lever 32, provided on the drum unit 14 in a vertical direction to a detachable direction being one direction; a plate spring 34 interposed between the drum unit 14 and the locking lever 32 and for urging the locking lever 32 to the outside to the drum unit 14 in the vertical direction; a lock receiver 27 provided on the apparatus body 20 at a position out of a passing route passed, when the drum unit 14 is inserted and detached and contacted on the lock lever 32 moved to the outside in the inserting direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
