<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal plate for fuel cells that can reduce noble metals for covering a metal substrate and contact electric resistance and is used for a inexpensively supplied separator of the fuel cells, or the like, and to provide the separator for fuel cells using the metal plate for fuel cells. <P>SOLUTION: The metal plate 1 for fuel cells comprises the metal substrate 2 and a plurality of noble metal covering sections 5, 6 that are formed on a front 3 and a rear 4 of the metal substrate 2 and is made of metal (Au) that is nobler than the metal substrate 2. In this case, the plurality of noble metal covering section 5, 6 are alienated each other on the front 3 and rear 4 of the metal substrate 2 and are positioned at a nearly even interval.
