PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore data into a state at the point of time a user desires with more certainty than usual. SOLUTION: A computer 1 is provided with: a command detection part 102 for detecting a command to alter a file; a file duplication part 104 for backing up a file related to the command as a backup file each time the command is detected before it is altered on the basis of the command; a backup table 83 for storing a correspondence relationship between a storage place of the file and the backup file and a date and time of backup; a time of day and the like specification receiving part 201 for inputting specification information to show a date and time constitution of which the user desires to restore the file to; a file configuration discrimination part 202 for discriminating a configuration of the file at the date and time shown in the inputted specification information on the basis of the backup table 83; and a recovery execution part 205 for recovering the file on the basis of the discrimination result by the file configuration discrimination part 202 and any of the backup files corresponding to the file.
