PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact low-cost and low-power radio frequency transceiver which has effective conflict resolution capability and fits in a housing with a dimension within the range of compact shape factor. SOLUTION: The transceiver has a direct conversion receiver, a voltage controlled oscillator, a phase locked loop circuit, a digitally controlled divider circuit, and a patch antenna for wireless communication between a computer and another device packaged into a compact enclosure. The transceiver enters a sleep mode in an idle state in order to further save power.
