PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorbing/water-retaining stacked knitted fabric, having excellent water-absorbing property and water-retaining property, capable of keeping a good dry feeling (light feeling) of the surface on absorbing water, and easily drying by evaporating the absorbed water, and a stacked sheet by using the same. SOLUTION: This water-absorbing/water-retaining knitted fabric consisting of a synthetic fiber is characterized by having piles of≥0.5 mm pile length by 20 piles/cm<SP>2</SP>density on its surface, and constituting by arranging a synthetic fiber having a modified cross section on its reverse surface. Also the water-absorbing/water-retaining stacked sheet is characterized by stacking a water-proof layer on the reverse surface side of the water-absorbing/water-retaining knitted fabric is also provided.
