It is an object of the present invention to provide a detection surface used for biosensors, which has an improved efficiency of immobilizing a physiologically active substance. The present invention provides a biosensor having a substrate, to the surface of which a compound represented by the following formula (A) is bound: wherein X represents a group capable of binding to the surface of a biosensor or a functional group existing on the surface of the biosensor; Y represents a group capable of binding to a physiologically active substance or a compound binding to the physiologically active substance; Z represents a group having an electric charge; each of L<SUB>1</SUB>, L<SUB>2</SUB>, and L<SUB>3 </SUB>independently represents a divalent linking group; L<SUB>4 </SUB>represents a trivalent group; and each of m, n, and p independently represents an integer of 0 or greater.
