Method for transferring goods (1) formed as square packing units, especially medicine packages, from a goods delivery unit (2) via an intermediate depository (4) to a serving unit (7) comprises opening gripping jaws of a gripping device after gripping goods on the goods delivery unit so that the alignment of the edges of the packaging unit remains secure to the gripping jaws. The opened gripping device is moved relative to the goods so that goods lie with a front side in a defined position relative to the gripping jaws. The goods are transferred in this defined position relative to the gripping jaws from the goods delivery unit. An independent claim is also included for an automatic station for carrying out the above process.
