NONWOVEN FABRIC SHEET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

Disclosed is a nonwoven fabric sheet which is characterized by having a porosity of 0.3-0.7 and an average pore size of 0.5-5.0 mum. In this nonwoven fabric sheet, the ratio of the maximum pore size (mum) to the average pore size (mum) is preferably not more than 1.30. The nonwoven fabric sheet can be obtained by press forming a thermoplastic resin for the nonwoven fabric sheet at a temperature lower than the melting point of the thermoplastic resin. The nonwoven fabric sheet has a high porosity and small uniform pore sizes while being excellent in productivity. This nonwoven fabric sheet is suitably used for various applications such as filters, light diffusion materials, liquid absorbing materials, and heat insulating materials. Also disclosed is a method for producing such a nonwoven fabric sheet.
