<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polluted water clarifying system which produces no poisonous ozone gas, has a long life and light maintenance burdens and further which is compact and is low in cost. <P>SOLUTION: The polluted water clarifying system has a primary treatment section 12 at which a flocculant is added to raw polluted water to perform removal treatment of inorganic materials and to obtain primary treated water, an oil removing treatment section 14 which performs oil removing treatment to the primary treated water 30 and an organic compound removing treatment section 18 which performs organic compound removing treatment by using a photocatalyst clarifying apparatus 38 to treated water where oil is removed at the oil removing treatment section 14. In the photocatalyst clarifying apparatus 38, a plurality of compartment passages 48 holding photocatalyst silica gel 60 are formed in a treatment tank 46 through which the treated water passes, a plurality of purple light emitting diodes mounted on a light emitting diode substrate are disposed at both sides of respective compartment passages 48 so that the compartment passages can be irradiated with ultra-violet light and a part of a heat pipe 52 is brought into contact with the light emitting diode substrate and other part of the heat pipe 52 can be cooled with the treated water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
