<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when a conventional colorant composition for forming a filter segment is used to correct color filter defects, the composition has adverse effects such as drying on a coating medium and bleed-out of a residual solvent into the filter segment or a black matrix of a color filter after coating matrix, and a micro coating device can not correct the color filter defects. <P>SOLUTION: Theis colorant composition contains a dye carrier comprising a transparent resin, its precursor or their mixture, a dye and a solvent expressed by general formula, and contains the above solvent by 10 to 50 wt.% with respect to the entire amount of the color composition. This method is carried out by depositing the color composition on the top end of a needle, bringing the top end into contact with a defective portion of the color pattern of the color filter to cover the defective portion.
