PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform improvement concerned with processing for stream information recording as to an information storage medium where video data transmitted by digital broadcasting etc., or stream data transmitted in packet structure are recorded, a data structure of management information regarding the stream data recorded on the medium, and a recording method and playback method for the management information. SOLUTION: Used is the information medium which has a data area constituted to record stream data and a management area constituted to record the management information regarding the stream data.
