摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a W based sintered material having high strength and high hardness suitable for use as a die for the hot press forming of an optical glass lens. SOLUTION: The W based sintered material for the hot press forming of the optical glass lens is composed of a sintered material of a green compact having a compounded composition consisting of 0.2 to 1.5 % Ni and 0.1 to 1 % Y<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and optionally, (a) 0.05 to 0.5 % VC and/or (b) 0.01 to 0.5 % Co and/or Fe, the balance being W, The above sintered material has the fine grain structure wherein the W phases form a sintering bonding with one another and any of fine Ni phases, Ni-Co alloy phases, Ni-Fe alloy phases and Ni-Co-Fe alloy phases and Y<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>phases all of a maximum particle diameter of≤5μm in structure observation by a scanning microscope are dispersed and distributed along boundaries of the above W phases and wherein the above W phase has a maximum particle diameter of≤30μm.
