The walking stick (1) is made of a lightweight material, preferably of carbon fiber, and has a rubber element (8) at its lower end for an avoidance of slipping. The upper end is fitted with a push button (6), acting on a spring supported carbon fiber stick (2, 3, 4) accommodated inside the hollow shaft of the walking stick (1). The lower end of the inner stick (4) is fitted with a pointed tip (5) extending through an opening (9) in the rubber element (8) and facilitating a safe walking.
