<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display desired image data for viewing without requiring any complicated operation from an operator. <P>SOLUTION: A DB 30 for this image filing system is provided with an image set serving as a set of a group of images, which are related to a patient ID and photographed on a specific date, and the image set includes image storage areas, each of which stores image data about one or more predetermined photographing segments for each of photographing regions necessary for a medical subject. An image formation processing part 26 reads image data matching designated photographing segment and photographing region among the image data stored in the DB 30, and then, aligns and displays the images of the designated photographing region. In a date priority mode, the images of the designated photographing segment included in the image element in the image set are continuously arranged in one direction to be displayed in line.
