<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map information display system wherein a video display apparatus such as a television receiver in a home can display a map information image related to a current location of a user of a mobile terminal such as a mobile phone without the need for utilizing a service provider or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A subscriber system 4 includes: a mobile phone 3; a subscriber television receiver 12; and an IP-STB 13 for providing video information to the subscriber television receiver, the mobile phone has a function of acquiring GPS positional information corresponding to a current position from a GPS satellite 2, and the IP-STB includes: a web server processing section 25 that extracts the GPS positional information corresponding to the current position of the mobile phone when detecting a URL access from the mobile phone; an image processing section 28 that searches map information corresponding to the extracted GPS positional information from a map DVD and generates a map information image on the basis of the searched map information; and a system control section 32 for allowing the subscriber television receiver to display the map information image through a subscriber television receiver interface 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
