CABLE TELEVISION SYSTEM, DISTRIBUTION DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable television system capable of reducing operation cost by enabling anyone to use a communication terminal as a common terminal receiving the provision of a cable television service without requiring the user to subscribe to cable television service for each communication terminal, and to provide a distribution device and a communication terminal.

SOLUTION: When an ID and a password are inputted into a viewing terminal provided in its own service area to which a user does not subscribe or a viewing terminal provided in another service area to which a user does not subscribe, authentication is performed for a CATV station 1 or a CATV station 2 in the service area in which the viewing terminal is to be provided, or the CATV station 1 or the CATV station 2 in that service area performs authentication for the CATV station 2 or the CATV station 2 in a service area to which the user subscribes. If the authentication is permitted, content is distributed to the viewing terminal of the service area for which a content distribution request is performed.
