<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unintentional operation of a noncontact IC chip, even if a user having a portable telephone with a noncontact IC module including the noncontact IC chip and an antenna for the chip mounted is within an electromagnetic wave effective range of an electromagnetic induction access device. <P>SOLUTION: On an opening 31 on a front face of the antenna 22 for the noncontact IC chip mounted on the portable telephone 1, an open/close cover 32 formed from a high magnetic permeability material is disposed. When a user uses the noncontact IC module, he opens the open/close cover 32, permitting the antenna for the noncontact IC chip to receive electric waves from the electromagnetic induction access device. When he does not use the noncontact IC module, he closes the open/close cover 32, thus shielding the antenna for the noncontact IC chip against electromagnetic waves from the electromagnetic induction access device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
