PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a safety mechanism of a laser pointer, which can accommodate to a semiconductor laser element and laser module dependent on a temperature in an output, in a saved space and at low cost. SOLUTION: A part of an output of laser light is received by one photodiode 4, the received signal is divided in two by a received signal dividing portion 5, and one is used in a light output stabilization circuit 6 to keep the output of laser light constant, and another is used in a safety circuit 7 to cutoff a supply current in failure. In order to control an effect, which is given to each other by the divided signal in failure, in a fixed value, a resistances value R1 and R2 of a route, where the signal current received by a photodiode comes into the light output stabilization circuit 6 and safety circuit 7, are of fixed value or above.
