PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle sensor for enabling to reduce angle errors caused by shaft displacement. SOLUTION: A magnetic field generation part 3 supported by a rotating shaft 6 rotates around the rotating shaft 6. Magnetic sensors 4 and 5 are located just under a peripheral part of the magnetic field generation part 3. A part facing the magnetic sensors 4 and 5 of the magnetic field generation part 3 is configured so that the distance from the peripheral part to the magnetic sensors 4 and 5 is greater than the distance from the other area. If shaft displacement occurs, changes in magnetic flux density at the edge of the magnetic field generation part 3 is moderated. Therefore, angle errors caused by shaft displacement can be reduced regardless of the structure of the case body containing the rotation angle sensor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
