PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a water-dispersed acrylic polymer which can form a coating film having a flexibility at a low temperature (-30°C) and excellent in hardness at room temperature (25°C), when it is used as a coating agent or an adhesive. SOLUTION: The aqueous acrylic polymer dispersion comprises polymer particles [X] comprising an ethylene polymer [A] with a glass transition temperature (measured Tg) of -50 to -15°C having a carboxyl group and an ethylene polymer [B] with a glass transition temperature (measured Tg) of 30 to 150°C, obtained by simultaneously charging monomer components (b) in an aqueous medium in which the ethylene polymer [A] is present and subjecting the mixture to polymerization.
