PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sun visor for an automobile which has a structure improving air permeability while keeping stiffness as a sun visor, and sound absorbing performance, in regard to a sun visor formed by using a reinforcing board such as corrugated cardboard as a core material, by surrounding an outer periphery thereof with a frame element formed by bending metallic wire, and by coating the outside of that with a facing material such as fabric or leather. SOLUTION: A sun visor core is composed of the frame element made of: the metallic wire; a platy core material disposed inside of the frame element, having a plurality of ventilating holes in a surface, and which is 2 to 30% in a hole area rate defined by a ratio of total area of each hole to a projected area; a cushion element of of high permeability covering the outside of the platy core material and the frame element; and the surface material of high permeability covering the outside of the cushion element.
