PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for converting a woody material such as sawmill product, veneer or chip to nonflammable woody boards such as bonded wood, plywood, LVL and particle board through processes to impregnate the woody material with a fireproofing liquid of borate and adhesively bind the woody material using an adhesive represented by a phenol resin as a crosslinking agent after drying and thus, obtain a fireproof architectural board which is effectively applicable to wide, long and thin design/laying. SOLUTION: The method for converting a woody material to boards comprises the following processes: the process to impregnate the woody material with a borate and dry it; the process to apply the adhesive such as a phenol resin to the upper surface of the dried woody material; and the process to prepare a silane coupling agent through reacting a silicone resin, an epoxy rein, an amino group, a methyl group or the like, then obtain a solution undergoing hydrolytic reaction by mixing boric acid(H<SB>3</SB>BO<SB>3</SB>) solution with the silane coupling agent or a solution by mixing an alcoholic solvent such as isopyl alcohol or ethanol with the silane coupling agent, and apply the agent, as a primer, to the woody material adhering surface to which the adhesive is applied and further, prevent the borate with which the woody material is impregnated from leaching.
