PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly detect the weld of a contactor by an extremely simple circuit constitution. SOLUTION: This power supply device for a vehicle comprises: a contactor 2 that is connected between a traveling battery 1 for driving a motor 12 that makes the vehicle travel and a load 10, and switches power feeding to the load 10 from the traveling battery 1 to an on-state and an off-state; and an abnormality detection circuit 8 that detects the contactor 2 to be abnormally turned on. The contactor 2 comprises: a main connecting point 21 that connects the traveling battery 1 to the load 10; and an auxiliary connecting point 22 that works with the main connecting point 21, but is arranged so as to be insulated from the main connecting point 21. In the power supply device, the abnormality detection circuit 8 detects the on-state and the off-state of the auxiliary connecting point 22 of the contactor 2, and detects the abnormal turning-on of the contactor 2 in a state of being insulated from a high-voltage circuit that is connected with the traveling battery 1.
