HAIR-TREATING AGENT AND METHODS OF TREATING HAIR

A hair-treating agent which comprises an alkoxysilane (1), an organic acid, and water and has a pH of 2-5. Also provided is a method of hair treatment which comprise stirring/mixing the hair-treating agent, subsequently applying it to the hair to thereby cause the alkoxysilane (1), which is represented by the general formula (1), to hydrolyze and generate a silanol compound (2), and allowing the compound (2) to infiltrate into the hair. Further provided is a method of hair treatment in which after the silanol compound (2) has infiltrated into the hair, an acid or alkaline aqueous solution is applied to the hair to accelerate the polymerization of the silanol compound.
