A seal construction comprises a shaft (1) that can rotate about its longitudinal axis, a structural part (4,5) that is oriented transversely to the shaft (1) and through which the shaft (1) is run, at least two coaxial ring seals (22,23) enclosing a pressure chamber (21) between them for sealing the shaft (1) and the structural part (4,5) with respect to one another, as well as pressurising means (17-20) for feeding a fluid into the pressure chamber (21) under excess pressure, which pressurising means (17-20) comprise a source (17) with a fluid under excess pressure, a throttle device (18) between the source and the pressure chamber (21) as well as a discharge (94) for discharging the fluid into the surroundings.
