The method involves having a control element to release a window with a driving motor for moving the windowpane. The movement of the driving motor is stopped for the determination of the windowpane position. The windowpane, before reaching the last position is stopped with a soft stop position and which over-drives to a number given in advance of operation of the control element within a time element, so that the window is then moved to a new position. The number of manipulations of the control element concerns three manipulation per second within a time element.
