Data are transmitted from an implant to an external apparatus and from the external apparatus to a central storage device. The transmission to the central storage device is in the form of at least one short message (SM) string. The time signature of an SMS transmitted via the telecommunications connection to the external apparatus is used to time-synchronize the external apparatus.
