Method and device for charging a battery

Charging a storage battery requires a charging current (10) which is applied to the battery to be charged and when the battery voltage (12) exceeds a given voltage value (U1) a pulse charge takes place, in which a charging current is for a given period of time (T1) increased multiply with a given time interval (T2), in which the increase of the charging current value results in which a given value for the charging current is not exceeded as an average. When the battery voltage reaches the gassing voltage (Ug) it will switch into a recharging phase. An independent claim is included for a charging device for a storage battery charging process.
